2010 Drama Merit Scholarships
The Donna Reed Foundation for the Performing Arts
Denison, Iowa

Donna Reed had a great respect for education and a personal understanding of what it means to follow one's dream. The Donna Reed Foundation for the Performing Arts honors her accomplishments by recognizing, encouraging, and supporting talented individuals pursuing an education and career in the performing arts.

The Donna Reed Foundation for the Performing Arts, with the generous support of Wells Fargo Bank, Crawford County Bank, Bank Iowa and a private donor, is offering two $1,000 scholarships and two $625 scholarships to high school seniors graduating in 2010 who reside in or attend high school in Crawford County, Iowa.

In order to qualify for these scholarships, a student must have acted in or have been a part of the tech crew for at least two drama productions during their high school career. Preference will be given to a student who plans to pursue a degree in the dramatic performing arts, however, this is not required in order to be considered for the scholarships.

The application form for qualified Crawford County students is available here as an Adobe PDF file. Student applications will require education and goal statements, personal essay answers, certifications by dramtic teachers or drama coaches, and a letter of recommendation reviewing past creative and dramatic activities.

All application materials are due at the Donna Reed Foundation office by Friday, April 30, 2010. Please see form for details.
