Jeff Sweet

Winner of the WGA Award, the Outer Critics Circle Award, the American Theatre Critics Association's playwriting award, and an Emmy nominee, Jeffrey has been widely produced on TV and stage. His Hallmark Hall of Fame adaptation of Hugh Whitemore's play Pack of Lies was nominated for best TV movie and best script and won the Peabody Award. He also wrote pilots for Norman Lear, the Charles Brothers, Columbia Television and Hearst Entertainment. He spent two years writing for the soaps One Life to Live and Another World. For the stage, he wrote The Value of Names, Porch, With and Without, and American Enterprise and collaborated on the musicals I Sent a Letter to My Love (written with Melissa Manchester) and What About Luv?, which featured Nathan Lane Off-Broadway and played successful engagements in London and Tokyo. He is the author of two books, Something Wonderful Right Away, and The Dramatist's Toolkit. He recently taught playwriting simultaneously for the MFA programs at the Actors Studio and Carnegie-Mellon University. He is a member of the Dramatists Guild.
