Esther Jane Williams (August 8, 1921 – June 6, 2013) was an American competitive swimmer and actress.
Esther Williams guest-starred on The Donna Reed Show as Molly, a fashion designer and friend of Donna's who is herself about to marry a doctor in "The Career Woman" (Season 2, Episode 31). She visits Donna to see what life is really like for a doctor's wife.
In real life, Williams and Reed had been close friends since the early 1940s, when they were rising MGM contract stars. Williams is best known for starring in MGMs aquatic movies.
