Donna Reed Scholar joins Broadway cast.
Brandon Victor Dixon will join the Broadway cast of Chicago in the role of Billy Flynn. He will star alongside previously announced Angelica Ross as Roxie Hart and Amra-Faye Wright as Velma Kelly beginning on September 12 at the Ambassador Theatre.
Dixon was last seen on Broadway as Aaron Burr in Hamilton. Prior to that, he earned Tony nominations for his roles as Eubie Blake in Shuffle Along; and as Harpo in the original Broadway production of The Color Purple. On television, he performed as Judas Iscariot in NBC's Jesus Christ Superstar, and as Collins in RENT on FOX.
Dixon was a 1999 Donna Reed scholarship finalist in musical theater.
