May 16, 1961: The 13th Annual Emmy Awards airs.

The 13th Emmy Awards were held on May 16, 1961, at the Moulin Rouge Night Club in Los Angeles, California. The ceremony was moderated by Dick Powell.


There were three nominations for the Outstanding Performance by an Actress in a Series (Lead).


Donna Reed was nominated for her role as Donna Stone on The Donna Reed Show, (ABC); Loretta Young as herself on The Loretta Young Show, (NBC); and Barbara Stanwyck as herself on The Barbara Stanwyck Show, (NBC). The award went to Stanwyck.
