Grant Mitchell

Grant Mitchell (June 17, 1874 – May 1, 1957).

John Grant Mitchell Jr. was an American stage actor on Broadway and mainly a character actor on film. He appeared on Broadway from 1902 to 1939 and appeared in more than 125 films between 1930 and 1948, usually in the role of a harangued husband, bemused dad, or bilious executive.


Mitchell appears with Donna Reed in See Here, Private Hargrove (1944) in the role of "Uncle George." A Variety reviewer said, "Donna Reed, photographing like the proverbial million, is the topper."
