During the Golden Age of Rado, Goodyear Tire and Rubber sponsored numerous radio programs. In 1944 they teamed with CBS and brought popular film actor Walter Pidgeon to the air to headline his own radio feature. With a new cast each week, the half-hour series featured him with twenty-six of the most popular female film stars of the era. Donna Reed appears in "The Outsider" as the hopelessly crippled daughter of a famous New York doctor who finds a new life through her faith in an unknown healer.
