Donna Reed scholar receives prestigious award.

Jared Grimes continues to dance on air this month, following up his first Tony Award nomination with a prestigious Chita Rivera Award.

Grimes, who grew up in High Point, North Carolina, received the award for Outstanding Male Dancer In A Broadway Show for his portrayal of vaudeville dancer and choreographer Eddie Ryan in the Broadway revival of "Funny Girl." He tied for the award with Myles Frost, who won for his portrayal of Michael Jackson in "MJ the Musical."

Grimes is a 2001 Donna Reed Foundation national scholarship recipient in dance. He later returned to Denison to teach dance classes during the Donna Reed Festival workshops.

That's so great to hear! It's always inspiring to see a scholarship recipient go on to achieve such high-level success. Winning a Chita Rivera Award and getting a Tony nomination for the same role is a huge accomplishment and a real testament to his talent and hard work. It's awesome that he's giving back by teaching at the very festival that supported him. ragdoll hit
