It was a busy Friday at the Donna Reed Heritage Museum with two media crews in the building at the same time. Both were shooting footage for stories about the upcoming centennial celebration of Donna Reed's birth on January 27th.
CW Iowa 23 TV host Jackie Schmillen, along with chief photographer Don Schmith, was there to interview Donna Reed's daughter, Mary Owen, who would be the focal point of their celebration coverage. Included was a visit to the archives and interviews with curators Pam Soseman and Jerry Peterman.
Taylor Anderson, Iowa Hall of Pride Director, along with Blake Rhoads, Director of Marketing and Communications, was also in the area covering a different story. On a whim, they decided to stop at the Donna Reed Heritage Museum because Donna Reed is one of 30 Iowans featured within their highly interactive exhibits. By the time they left, their impromptu visit had developed into an interview with Owen which will be featured on their Iowa Hall of Pride Youtube Channel.
