Norma Connolly and the birth of The Donna Reed Foundation


Norma Connolly

Norma Connolly (August 20, 1927 – November 18, 1998)


Grover Asmus, Shelley Fabares, and Norma Connolly, along with several other close associates, were instrumental in founding The Donna Reed Foundation for the Performing Arts in Denison, Ia. Connolly also served on the Foundation’s Advisory Board.


She is best known for her roles on The Young Marrieds as Lena Karr Gilroy and on General Hospital as Ruby Anderson. The Foundation remembers her with great affection and regard for her generosity and immense talent.
