She was elegant but bored

April 11, 1956 - Backlash released to theaters in USA.

Backlash (1956) is an American Western film directed by John Sturges and starring Richard Widmark and Donna Reed.

It unfolds in the vein of the psychological Western. It delivers an unconventional story that sometimes crosses into film noir, as a colorful cast of supporting characters helps or hinders the protagonist during the unfolding of its central mystery.

A New York Times review said, "as Karyl, Donna Reed is cool (except with Mr. Widmark), elegant and slightly bored. You can't blame her."
