Did he sing on the show?

James Darren (born June 8, 1936).

James William Ercolani, known by his stage name James Darren, is an American television and film actor, television director, and singer. He made his name in the 1950s in a series of teenage-themed films but found it difficult to escape the teen-idol image he got in pictures like Gidget (1959) and Gidget Goes Hawaiian (1961). He also gained fame in the early and mid-1960s as a singer with several hits including "Goodbye Cruel World" and "Her Royal Majesty".

Darren guests on The Donna Reed Show in “April Fool” (Season 1, Episode 28) and in “One Starry Night” (Season 4, Episode 1).
