Donna Reed and Willie Mays

Willie Mays (born May 6, 1931).

Willie Howard Mays Jr. nicknamed "The Say Hey Kid," is an American former professional baseball center fielder. He spent almost all of his 22-season Major League Baseball career playing for the New York/San Francisco Giants (1951–1952, 1954–1972) before finishing his career with the New York Mets (1972–1973). Regarded as one of the greatest baseball players of all time, he was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1979.


Mays appears in three episodes of The Donna Reed Show: “My Son the Catcher” (Season 6, Episode 31); "Play Ball" (Season 7, Episode 3); and “Calling Willie Mays” (Season 8, Episode 20).
