May 4, 1945 - Gentle Annie's initial release by M-G-M.

"Gentle Annie" is a Western-themed film directed by Andrew Marton in 1944. It stars Donna Reed and James Craig, with Marjorie Main in the role of Annie Goss. A notable actor in the film is Harry Morgan, who plays Cottonwood Goss. Morgan is best known for portraying Colonel Potter in the TV series M*A*S*H.

The New York Times declared it was a "pleasantly sentimental film" with "a good bit of tender romance ... nicely enacted by James Craig and Donna Reed."
