Rhys Williams and Donna Reed

Rhys Williams (December 31, 1897 – May 28, 1969).

Rhys Williams was a Welsh character actor in films and television, whose career spanned several decades. He made his film debut in How Green Was My Valley (1941) which is set in rural Wales. Williams, the only genuine Welshman in the cast, was originally hired solely to coach the actors in their Welsh accents; ultimately director John Ford gave him a role in the film.

Watch him on The Donna Reed Show in The Busy Body (Season 1, Episode 13), playing the part of Donna’s uncle who suddenly drops by for an unexpected visit.
